The research investigates whether an acetic and lactic acid vaginal combination product, has beneficial effects in recurrent vulvovaginal candidiasis.

Premenopausal females with a history of recurrent vulvovaginal candidiasis
What would I be asked to do? How much time would it take?
You will be asked to attend a telephone or teleconference appointment with the Clinical Trial Unit (G40) on the Gold Coast campus for an eligibility screening. Confirmation of eligibility will be followed by 3 more appointments (Baseline, 3 and 6 months). Each appointment will take approximately 1h. You must also be available for a phone-call at 9 months. You will be required to apply a vaginal pessary for 7 days a month for 6 months, complete questionnaires and self-sample your vaginal pH on a fortnightly basis. You will also be required to have a blood sample taken on the day of the appointments. You may be required to self-swab your vagina for microbiome analysis at the 3 appointment timepoints.
