Is your child experiencing difficulties connecting with other children and making or maintaining friendships?

Kids Connect is a 10 week social skills program designed specifically for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

The next program commences in Term 2 2018 and is designed for girls and boys aged 10-12 years. It will focus on the following aspects of social interactions:

  • understanding friendship
  • initiating and maintaining friendships
  • repairing friendships
  • coping with teasing and bullying.

Program format

The 10 week program will consist of one group for the child and one group for the parent(s) on there same day. The child group runs from 4pm-5pm and the parent group runs from 5pm-5:30pm (which focuses on how to extend and further develop your child’s social skills).

Location

The 10 week program will be conducted at the Griffith University Psychology Clinic (Mt Gravatt campus) in Term 2, 2018.

Future groups and expressions of interest

While the Kids Connect Program is designed for all children aged 7-12 years of age, we split the groups into smaller more specific age brackets (7-9 years, and 10-12 years). We will be conducting these specific age-based groups throughout the year so please contact us for more information or to register your interest.
